USTA Northern Arizona Larry and Geneta Plaster for Supporting Andrew Bogdanov’s Tennis Journey
The USTA NAZ extends its deepest gratitude to Larry and Geneta Plaster for their generous donation supporting Andrew Bogdanov, a rising star on the international wheelchair tennis tour.
Thanks to their contribution—made through the Southwest Tennis Foundation—Andrew was able to compete at the 2025 ITF World Team Cup in Antalya, Turkey, held May 6–11. Representing Team USA, Andrew helped the team achieve an impressive 5th place finish, securing qualification for next year’s World Team Cup.
Andrew had a standout performance with an 8–1 overall record, going 5–0 in singles, and contributing to victories over Colombia, Great Britain, and Turkey.
Larry Plaster shared his motivation for giving:
“I know how hard Andrew has worked to reach the #16 position in singles in the world and want to continue to support that amazing effort.”
Andrew responded with heartfelt appreciation:
“Without the help of Larry and Geneta, other entities, and community members, I would not have the opportunity to be where I am today on the tour.”
“I’m truly indebted to them and will do my best to represent their efforts as well as my own.”
Andrew’s journey continues with tournaments in Switzerland and Germany next month before returning to the U.S. for events in Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Open.
We at USTA NAZ are incredibly proud of Andrew’s accomplishments and grateful to the Plasters for their continued support of excellence and inclusion in tennis.
